Sex, drugs and tories
Alan Hollinghurst: The Line of Beauty. A captivating story about a young man who lives with a family of a conservative MP in the 1980's. Though the powerful connections of Oxford and the family, he observes all the fashions and curses of the 80's, including cocaine and AIDS. The book is based on snapshot-like chapters. Interesting enough but I could not read this kind of narrative all the time.
