It's not a film

James Robertson: The testament of Gideon Mack

Scene: a dinner with Rev. Gideon Mack and his friends in the village of Monimaskit, Scotland.
Discussion: we see our lives as a film, because a film is such a powerful, visual instrument of story-telling.

This is very probably the case. Trying to remember something that happened years ago, many people might visualise the events like a film. Even the act of remembering is like a flashback in a bad TV drama.

But of course life is not a film, or even a nicely written piece of fiction. Films have a story, central character, framing of events and objects in a focus, and good timing.
